Task 4

3) Rewrite the story of Little Red Riding Hood from the POV of the wolf.

Okay, so I got killed in the end and I am sure you all were happy that I died. I was not as clever as I had thought I was. Right now I cannot rest in peace if the record is not set straight. The official accounts of what happened that day are all lies, and I hate lies, especially lies about me. So here's what actually happened.

The first lie that really irritates me is all this business about me being a big bad wolf. I admit that I may have been average size once, but by the time I was killed, I was more ribs than flesh. I had not had a decent meal in weeks. The history books say I wanted to eat Little Red Riding Hood. I did not want to eat her and I can prove it. Even if I wanted to eat her, what is so terrible about it? This is what we wolves usually eat. What about Little Red Riding Hood, nobody complained when she had beef steak for breakfast and when she took eggs from the chicken.

Anyway, as I had said earlier, I did not want to eat her. Here's the prove. You remember when she and I had a little chat in the woods? I asked her where she was going, what she had in the basket, and where her sick granny lived. Well, if I was close enough to talk to her, you will have to agree that I was close enough to eat her. Why did I not try to eat her?

The fact was, I was after Little Red Riding Hood's basket containing the goodies. With my teeth I could not even bite a chicken let alone a girl. It was the basket that I wanted. I thought of stealing the basket from her there and then but it would upset her.

My plan was easy and simple. I intended to pop along to Granny's cottage, to give granny a little scare, so she will run away. I will pretend I was granny, and relieve Red Riding Hood of the basket. Then she would go home happily thinking she had done her good deed and I would have the basket. We will all live happily ever after.

Only things did not turn out the way I had expected. I found out that granny was not there. I had pushed open the door, all set to scare old granny and get out of the way as she rushed out, only there was nobody to scare. I crawled into the bed, pulling the covers over me. In a few minutes, Little Red Riding Hood came along.

When she knocked the door, I stayed under and called out: "Who is it?".

"It's me, Grandma!", said Red Riding Hood.

"Well who's me?", I asked.

"Little Red Riding Hood!", she said. "I have brought you a basket full of lovely food".

"Come in my dear, come in", I said.

And in she came. Naturally, I stayed under the covers.

"How are you Grandma?", she asked.

"I am not well at all, dear," I said. "I caught a very contagious disease, I will stay under the covers until you have gone. Just leave the basket here and run along dear."

"Yes, Grandma," said Little Red Riding Hood.

Just as she turned to leave, who should walk into the room but Grandma herself !

"Hello, Red Riding Hood", said Granny.

"Hello, Grandma", said Red Riding Hood.

"Grandma",said Little Red Riding Hood, "if you are here, who could that be in your bed?"

At that instant, I regretted my previous actions.

"Whoever you are, show yourself."said Granny.

I poked my nose out from under the covers.

"Look," I said, "it's all been a terrible mistake......"

BANG, BANG, BANG!

Oh, the injustice. All I wanted was something to eat . Granny had managed to shot me three times. I screamed out in agony, hoping that they would help me somehow but the last thing those two had in mind was to help me. Granny and Little Red Riding Hood talked about how famous they would be for killing a wolf. I lay there, half in and half out of the world, they calmly discussed the tale they would tell the reporters. At last I took my last breath as I leave this unfair and cruel world.
